Making it Stick:
Students learn about the science of learning
Teaching Character Strengths
Character strengths outrank intelligence as an indicator of the future success of a child. Character education has a long history, but recently there has been a resurgence of interest in teaching character strengths, creating positive classrooms and thus improving behaviour. This course will give you a solid understanding of the science that supports character instruction, introduce you to different models and explore ways in which you can embed it into your school or lessons.
During form time, secondary school students participate in weekly sessions led by their tutors. They explore the science of how we learn and how to use different strategies to learn more effectively over the long term. Understanding memory is not just for teachers!
